RECIPE FOR TIL LADOOS
Ingredients
1 small bowl coarsely ground peanuts
Water for syrup
1 cup gud (jaggery)
1 cup til (sesame seeds)
1 cup grated coconut
Finely chopped cashews and almonds
Elaichi (cardamom) powder according to taste
Raisins
Ghee (clarified butter)
Method for making Til Ladoos
Step 1: Roast 1cup sesame
Step2: once the sesame seeds turn golden brown,
transfer them into a bowl
Step3: Roast 1 cup grated coconut
Step4: Transfer the roasted coconut into a bowl
Step5: Now add coarsely ground peanuts
Step6: Add finely chopped cashews, almonds and raisins
Step7: Add cardamom powder according to taste, Mix
everything well
Step8: Now add the sesame-coconut mixture according to
the melted jaggery and mix well to make your ladoos
To Make Syrup
Step 1: Melt 1cup Jaggery and 1 tsp ghee
Archana’s quick Tips To follow while
making Til Ladoos:
1)
To avoid sesame seeds from burning, roast them on a
low flame.
2)
To get the right textures, roast the sesame seeds and
coconut separately
3)
The quantity of sesame seeds and jaggery should be the
same
4)
For the syrup, use the jaggery which is used to
make chikki(brittle)
5)
Add the sesame-coconut mixture in accordance to the
melted jaggery
6)
Drop a string of the melted jaggery in water. If the
syrup solidifies, it is ready
7)
Apply ghee on your hands to ensure they don’t get
burnt while making the ladoos
